Terms of service
Last updated October 23, 2026
These terms cover your use of Ember (ember.justinwilkins.dev). By signing in, you agree to them. The privacy policy explains how your data is handled.
The service
Ember gathers your financial accounts in one place and helps you understand them. It is an early, small service, offered as is, and it may change or stop. We'll give notice before shutting it down so you can export your data.
Not financial advice
Numbers, categories, projections and retirement simulations are estimates from the data your banks share and the inputs you give. They can be incomplete or wrong. Nothing in Ember is financial, investment, tax or legal advice; check anything important with your bank or a professional.
Your account
- Use Ember only for accounts you own or are allowed to access.
- Keep your email and any API keys you create safe; you are responsible for what is done with them.
- Don't misuse the service: no attempts to reach other people's data, overload it, or get around its security.
Bank connections
Connections are made through Plaid. By connecting an account you also agree to Plaid's terms and its End User Privacy Policy. You can disconnect any account at any time in Settings.
Paid plans
If paid plans are offered, prices and what they include are shown before you subscribe. Payments are handled by Stripe, and you can cancel any time in Settings.
Ending your use
You can stop using Ember and delete everything in Settings at any time. We may suspend an account that misuses the service, and will tell you why.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Ember is provided without warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions made from its numbers.
Changes and contact
If these terms change in a way that matters, the date above changes and you get an email about it. Questions: ember@justinwilkins.dev.
